Herman Agrees to Contract Extension at Houston

HOUSTON, TX — According to multiple reports, Houston football coach Tom Herman has “agreed in principle” on a contract extension. The news was first reported by the Houston Chronicle. Herman, 40, was considered a frontrunner to take succeed Steve Spurrier at South Carolina, but reports surfaced last week that he backed out of consideration. Herman is 11-1 in his first season at Houston and has been considered for the Georgia and Miami head coaching vacancies as well. Herman will make $3 million per season under his new contract according to the report.
