Infant Left at Palmetto Health-Richland
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — Richland County Department of Social Services (DSS) officials report that an infant was brought to Palmetto Health-Richland on November 26 and placed under the protection of Safe Haven staff.
Upon the information and belief of the agency, the child falls under the jurisdiction of “Daniel’s Law,” the Safe Haven for Abandoned Babies Act, officials say.
Officials say, Baby Girl Doe is a white female weighing 7lbs 7oz.
She born at a doctor’s office on November 26 and is in DSS custody.
Under the Safe Haven Act, a permanency planning hearing will be held at the Richland County Family Court on Thursday, December 17 at 3:45 p.m.
Any person wishing to assert parental rights regarding the infant must do so at this hearing.
