Sumter Co. Deputy First on Scene to Wife’s Fatal Accident

SUMTER, S.C. (WOLO) — A Sumter County Sheriff’s Deputy responded to a fatal accident Wednesday morning, to learn that the victim was his wife.

The accident happened on Lewis Road off Highway 15.

Authorities say, 45-year-old Teresa Browder was hit head-on when an SUV crossed the center line.

Browder was pronounced dead at the scene.

Sumter County Sheriff Anthony Dennis released a statement asking the public to “keep the Browder family in their thoughts and prayers.”
