SLED Investigating an Officer-Involved Shooting in Anderson County

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — Agents of the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division are investigating an officer-involved shooting in Anderson County.

The incident happened Thursday, December 10 in which a man was shot during a confrontation with deputies of the Anderson County Sheriff’s Department, officials say.

The incident was the 48th officer-involved shooting in South Carolina in 2015 and the first this year involving a deputy of the Anderson County Sheriff’s Department.

Last year, there were 42 officer-involved shooting incidents in South Carolina, three involved the Anderson County Sheriff’s Department.
