Northwestern Rolls By Lexington 63-13 To Title

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — Gage Moloney threw for five touchdowns and ran for another to lead Northwestern to a 63-13 victory over Lexington Saturday night in the Class 4A, Division II state championship.
It was the Trojans’ fifth state title overall and third since 2010. Northwestern also won state titles in 1989, 1993, 2010 and 2013. The 63 points tied the record for most points scored in a state championship game.
Moloney threw touchdowns passes of 15 yards to Jonathan Morgan, 11 yards to Jerry Howard and 29 yards to Jamario Holley in the first half to help stake Northwestern (14-1) to a 42-7 halftime lead. He added a 74-yard strike to Jordan Starkes and an 18-yarder to Austin Hoofnagle in the second half. Moloney scored on a 5-yard touchdown run in the opening half. Moloney finished with 270 yards passing.
Howard ran for 157 yards and two scores and Miles Corprening added a 54-yard interception return for a score in the decisive first half.
Lexington (13-2) never got on track offensively. The Wildcats had just 42 yards rushing and 295 overall.
