RCSD investigating kidnapping and armed robbery
Richland County Sheriff's deputies are investigating the kidnapping and armed robbery of a man with special needs Sunday afternoon
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — Richland County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating the kidnapping and armed robbery of a man with special needs Sunday afternoon.
Authorities say the 44-year-old was forced into a car at gunpoint in the 3000 block of River Drive, by two black men. They say he was then driven to the corner of Bakersfield Road and Tyeu Trail, behind Dutch Square Mall, where he was beaten by the suspects, and robbed.
Deputies say they responded to the location around 2 p.m. The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
