Flooding Concerns into Christmas Eve

A vigorous storm system is moving across the United States, and with the unusually warm weather pattern we have had in place, we are likely to see an active weather day for Wednesday and also into Thursday. We have already been dealing with problems due to flooding in the Midlands Tuesday, and more rain will make the situation worse.

A Flash Flood Watch is in effect through Thursday afternoon. Strong storms are possible for Wednesday. Expect dense fog for the morning hours, followed by rain, windy conditions, and some storms. Temperatures will attempt to move past the 70 degree mark for the high today. Rain will likely continue into the evening hours, so you will need your umbrellas.

The unstable weather pattern will likely lead to severe weather in the western portions of the Deep South into Thursday. Here in the Midlands, expect rain and storms to continue into Christmas Eve. It will also be quite warm with highs reaching the mid to upper-70s. We may even see some scattered showers and storms going into Christmas Day.
