Clemson Fans Gearing Up for National Championship
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) –The Clemson Tigers have punched their ticket to the College Football National Championship.
“The game was awesome. It was a tough game at the start but I believe that Clemson opened up in the second half and really made a statement,” says Clemson fan John Wilson.
Even in Gamecock country, those who don’t typically root for the Tigers say they take pride in knowing a South Carolina team is heading to the National Championship.
“I live in South Carolina so I have home state pride… I’m going to support Clemson because of state pride,” says USC and Maryland fan Mike Wetzel.
Some are confident about the team’s chances against the Crimson Tide, while others remain wary.
“I”m very excited I think they’re going to have a tough game against Alabama, but I believe they’ll come through at the end,” Wilson tells ABC Columbia.
However, Tigers fan Jonah Chayil says,”Straight up, I don’t think they can beat Bama, but you never know. They have Deshaun Watson, they have a great line up. When two Titans go up against each other the best person wins on that day.”
As players prep, football fans can only speculate until the January 11th game.
