New Year’s Day shooting sends two to hospital

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — Columbia Police are looking for the suspects in a shooting Friday at 7 p.m. on the 1100 block of King Street in Columbia.

Officials say they found a 41-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man with gunshot wounds to their lower extremities. Both victims were taken to the hospital, where they were treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Authorities say it is not clear what prompted the shooting, or whether the individuals who were hurt know the suspect or suspects.
