Restaurant Week Serves Up Savings and Boosts Business
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — A mouth-watering meal is something restaurant goers expect, but there’s more than meets the eye when it comes to cooking up food favorites.
“Creating the recipes to prepare those items, teaching and coaching those recipes and then of course creating those in volume and being consistent with that,” says David Grillo, Executive Chef at Za’s Brick Oven Pizza.
The Devine Street eatery faces the same challenge most restaurants experience, a surge in sales during the holidays and then a dip in diners at the start of the year.
“You know people do different things during certain seasons. January, I guess, lets face it, no one really wants to go outside,” Manager Curtis Player explains.
For a boost in business, Za’s is participating in Columbia’s restaurant week. Offering a multi-course meal for a pre-fixed price from January 7th through 17th.
“It helps boost our sales, it provides a great value to the customer coming in, and generally it’s great business it’s always been great for business,” Grillo tells ABC Columbia.
Restaurant week doesn’t just benefit the bottom line of your favorite food hub, it’s a chance support the local and state economy.
According to Grillo, “The advertise it statewide, you know, and people participate it statewide so it’s a really big event for the restaurant industry.”
