Mother Charged Months After 3-Year-Old Accidentally Shot Himself

ROCK HILL, S.C. (WSOC) — The mother of a 3-year-old who accidentally shot himself with a gun in November has been arrested after turning herself in to police.

Patricia Carter faces unlawful child neglect charges, Rock Hill Police told WSOC Friday morning.

Investigators said that on Nov. 15 Sa’vion Barrow found a loaded gun in his home on Amelia Avenue in Rock Hill, and accidentally shot himself.

Police said Carter, an adult friend, and his 10-year-old sister were all in the house.
