Boil Water Advisory for Trenholm Drive

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– There is a boil water advisory issued for water customers in the Trenholm Drive area.  This includes those located in Lakeview Circle to Forest Drive, and the Trenholm Plaza Shopping Center.

Water customers are asked to vigorously boil their water for at least one full minute prior to drinking or cooking.  Also, any ice made from water that has not been boiled should not be used for drinking purposes.

The City of Columbia has experienced an eight inch water main break. This could possibly result in bacterial contamination of the water in the affected areas.  Those in the Trenholm Drive area should continue to boil their water until further notice.

The City of Columbia Water Works is presently working to correct the problem. Please take in mind, this will create a traffic disruption north bound on Trenholm Drive.
