Columbia Police Continue Search for Suspect Wanted in Assault

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — Authorities have released surveillance pictures of a man suspected of assaulting a man early Thursday morning on Greene Street.

Columbia Police Chief Skip Holbrook said the suspect allegedly punched a male in the head, causing him to fall and hit his head on the concrete at the 2000 block of Greene Street.

The victim was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries, officials say.

Officials say the suspect and victim were arguing before the incident occurred shortly before 2 a.m. on January 21.

The suspect is described as a white male with brown hair, last seen wearing a dark-colored ‘puffer’ jacket.
