A man is in custody, after firing shots at deputies responding to a domestic disturbance

Arkeem BreelandCOLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) – Richland County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating an aggravated assault that happened Saturday after 11 p.m. on Camrose Court.

Deputies responded to a domestic disturbance. Officials say when they arrived, 23-year-old Arkeem Breeland fired several shots, striking the patrol car multiple times.

Authorities say Breeland ran into the woods. He was located and taken to the hospital, where he was treated for hypothermia and a pre-existing health condition.

Breeland has been booked into Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center. He’s charged with attempted murder, unlawful carry of a handgun, and unlawful use of a handgun during the commission of a violent crime.
