S.C. Rep. Bamberg Endorses Sanders
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — South Carolina State House Representative Justin Bamberg endorsed Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders during a press conference Monday.
The announcement comes ahead of the Feb. 27 Democratic primary.
Bamberg, lawyer for the family of Walter Scott, who was killed by a former North Charleston police officer Michael Slager last April — endorsed Sanders, after initially supporting Hillary Clinton in December.
“It’s important that I show my constituents that we as Americans have a right to choose,” Bamberg said during the press conference. “I am not here to play the game of politics, I and Bernie are here to change the game of politics.”
