Coroner IDs NJ Man Killed in Barbershop Shooting

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C (WOLO) —  We now know the identity of the individual who was shot and killed while attempting to rob a barber shop Friday night.

35-year-old Adeyemi Herschelle Hannibal died from complications of multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body when he and an accomplice attempted to rob patrons at the ‘Next Up Barber and Beauty’ located on Fort Jackson Blvd in Columbia around 7PM.

Hannibal ran from the building and collapsed a short time later and was transported by EMS to Palmetto Health Richland where he later died.

Officials say his last known address was in New Jersey.

Richland County Coroner Gary Watts is requesting that if anyone knows Adeyemi Hannibal or has current information on next of kin to please call 803-576-1799.

The Columbia Police Department are still investigating the robbery.
