Police Search for Triggerman in December Shooting

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO) — Deputies with the Richland County Sheriff’s Department are requesting the community’s assistance in locating a man wanted for attempted murder.

Authorities say video surveillance at the Circle K gas station located at 4300 Hardscrabble Road helped investigators identify 19-year-old Yakiem Breeland as the triggerman in a shooting that left one victim with a gunshot wound in the upper body.

Sheriff Leon Lott said the incident occurred just after 1 a.m. on Saturday, December 26.

The victim was treated and released from the hospital and is still recovering from his injuries, Lott said.  

Sheriff said Breeland is considered armed and dangerous.
