Chad Holbrook Previews 2016 Baseball Season

COLUMBIA, S.C. — Just one season removed from a 32-25 (13-17 SEC) season, Chad Holbrook and the Carolina baseball team is putting the past in the past, but certainly not forgetting the struggles of 2015.

“It wasn’t much fun,” said Holbrook Friday before USC’s scrimmage. “I’ve been in baseball all my life, and I know sometimes things don’t go as according to plan.”

Holbrook and the Gamecocks were left out of this year’s Baseball America Preseason Top 25 poll for the first time since 2009, and the 32 wins in 2015 were the fewest wins for a USC baseball team since 1996.

“What I went through wasn’t a lot of fun, and I wanted to fix it,” Holbrook said. “I don’t want to go through it again. Obviously we know USC has a great winning tradition and years like last year are few and far between.”
