Newberry County Deputies Arrest Two on Multiple Drug Charges
NEWBERRY, S.C. (WOLO) — Newberry County deputies have arrested two individuals who face multiple drug possession charges.
27-year-old Stephen Taylor of Deep Run and 22-year-old Bridgette Clark of La Grange, North Carolina were traveling near S.C. Highway 34 near Tom Griffin Road on Thursday, January 28 when a deputy noticed “erratic behavior.” Authorities say the deputy approached the silver colored Chevrolet the pair were traveling in when it was stopped in a nearby parking area. The deputy detained the driver and smelled a strong odor of marijuana and observed a handgun in the driver-side door. During a subsequent search of the pair, deputies found marijuana, cocaine, methamphetamine and over $4,000 in cash. Taylor was charged with possession with intent to distribute cocaine, possession of methamphetamine, simple possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of an unlawful weapon. Clark was charged with possession with intent to distribute cocaine, simple possession of marijuana, possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. |
