Man Sought in Connection to Assault of Orangeburg Teen
ORANGEBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO) — Orangeburg County Sheriff’s investigators are seeking a person of interest in an assault case involving a teenager.
Officials with an Orangeburg County high school notified investigators after a teen reported being struck by a male her mother met through an online dating site.
The teen said that in September of 2015, a male friend of her mother’s struck her in the hand with a stick while demonstrating what he said was a military maneuver.
The teen sustained a fracture to her hand authorities say.
Authorities say the mother demanded the man leave their residence after he offered to have sex with both the mother and her daughter.
The person of interest is described as a white male about 6-0” tall with black hair who goes by the name of “Derrick.” He was said to have resided in the Neeses area but may have moved to Sumter.
