Watch: GOP Presidential Candidate Profile: Jeb Bush

Columbia , S.C. (WOLO) — This week on ABC Columbia, reporter Jennifer Ready will be profiling each GOP candidate ahead of Saturday’s first in the south primary.

On Monday evening, Presidential hopeful Jeb Bush will campaign in the Low Country with his brother, former President George W. Bush.

Following in the footsteps of his older brother and his father, Jeb Bush is vying for his chance at the oval office. His presidential campaign is focused on growing the middle class, strengthening national defense and helping veterans. On the campaign trail, Bush is capitalizing on his experience as Governor to set him apart from other candidates.

“We led the nation in job growth but we shrunk government, don’t you want that for our government and for Washington, D.C.?” asked Bush at a rally.

Bush led the Sunshine State for 2 terms where he worked to cut taxes and build business reform.

“Others can talk about it, I’ve done it and it’s not easy to do,” said Bush. “It requires leadership, it requires a backbone.”

Early in his run for President, Bush was criticized for his low-energy and ‘lackluster’ debate performance. Bush finished 6th in the Iowa Caucus and 4th in the New Hampshire primary. Days away from the First in the South primary, the former governor is hoping for a strong backing in the Palmetto state, bringing George W on the campaign trail.

“He knows what it takes to be President of the United States, to be Commander in Chief and that he believes I have those skills based on my record and based on how he knows me,” said Bush.

Bush, whose last name is left out of his logo, is embracing the family name just in time for the South Carolina race. South Carolina is a state that has supported the Bush family in the past. During their runs for President, both George W and George H.W. earned wins in the South Carolina primary. A tradition Jeb Bush is looking to continue on Saturday.
