COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — Lexington county coroner Margaret Fisher says the reason why she can not identify a man who was shot and killed this weekend in Lexington is because he was in the country illegally.

Restaurant owner Gregorio Leon turned himself in Sunday for the murder that took place on River Chase Way near Corley Mill Road.

Leon was once at the center of the bribery case of former Lexington county Sheriff James Metts.
Metts was accused of accepting bribes to release illegal immigrants working in restaurants who were arrested for minor crimes.
