A Look at Hillary Clinton Ahead of Saturday’s Primary
Columbia , S.C. (WOLO) — This week, ABC Columbia will be profiling each of the Democratic Presidential candidates ahead of Saturday’s primary.
In South Carolina, Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton holds a commanding lead over Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders. Clinton leads most polls by double-digits.
Coming off a big win in Nevada, Hillary Clinton continues to push on in her quest to make history as the first woman President of the United States.
“I want to knock down all the barriers that are holding people back,” said Clinton.
The former secretary of state is the front-runner in the Democratic party. Her campaign is focused on reforming the criminal justice system and raising American incomes to create more jobs and grow the economy.
“We’re going to build ladders of opportunity in their place so that every American can go as far as your hard work will take you,” explained Clinton.
Clinton has earned major support from several South Carolina politicians, including U.S. Representative Jim Clyburn and South Carolina Representative Todd Rutherford.
However, the former first lady’s campaign’s been plagued with questions about her honestly. Several republicans have criticized her for using a private email server for official business and many have also raised questions about Benghazi during her time as Secretary of State.
“You can not lie to the families of the people who died in Benghazi and then think you’re going to be Commander in Chief,” said GOP presidential hopeful, Marco Rubio.
Clinton’s opponent, Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders is slamming Clinton for adopting several of his ideas.
“The American people need to know the difference between hastily adopted campaign rhetoric and the real record and the long held ideas of candidates,” said Sanders.
Clinton won both Iowa and Nevada.
