Democratic Primary: Poll Breakdown
Columbia, S.C. (WOLO) — In Saturday’s primary Hillary Clinton swept Bernie Sanders in South Carolina winning 74% of the votes.
Across the state, Clinton topped Sanders in all 46 counties. In the midlands, here is a look at the breakdown:
Richland County: Clinton 76%, Sanders 24%
Lexington County: Clinton 61%, Sanders 39%
Orangeburg County: Clinton 89%, Sanders 11%
Sumter County: Clinton 87%, Sanders 13%
Newberry County: Clinton 81%, Sanders 18%
Kershaw County: Clinton 77%, Sanders 22%
Among African American voters and young voters, Clinton and Sanders split. Clinton won the majority of African American votes, while Sanders won the majority of young votes ages 17-29.
