Victim Identified in Fatal Garners Ferry Road Accident

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO) — The name of a man killed following an accident in the 9200 block of Garners Ferry Road early Sunday morning has been released.

Richland County Coroner Gary Watts said 24-year-old Charles Clinton Cobb of Columbia was a passenger in a vehicle that left the roadway and overturned.

Watts said Cobb was  not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle.

He was pronounced dead at the scene for injuries he sustained.

The wreck happened around 4:30AM.

No other vehicles were involved in the wreck, the driver was transported by EMS to Palmetto Richland Memorial and is in serious condition, authorities say.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol are investigating.
