COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss…what wondrous worlds your books introduce.

If you go to your local library or book store, they’re likely paying tribute to Dr. Seuss, who would have turned 112 today.

The beloved writer and illustrator, Theodor Seuss Geisel better known as Dr. Seuss died in 1991. But his legacy has endured among children everywhere.

To honor Seuss the National Education Association dubbed the day National Read Across America Day. The goal is to encourage children and teens to read.
