RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO) — Deputies with the Richland County Sheriff’s Department are looking for a suspect wanted for cloning a credit card and using it to make fradulent purchases.

Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott said the suspect stole the victim’s credit card information and made purchases at the Walmart located at 321 Killian Road on Monday, February 1.

The suspect made four separate purchases at the location totaling approximately $400, officials say.

Sheriff Leon Lott stated that it is unclear when or where the victim’s credit card information was compromised.

The suspect is described as a white male in his late teens to early 20s, wearing blue jeans, a black shirt, and a red hat.

Sheriff is reminding citizens to “be aware of your surroundings and who may be watching over your shoulder; keep track of all your cards and receipts to compare your monthly statements.”
