LEXINGTON, S.C. (WOLO) – The first ever St. Patrick’s Day Parade marched through downtown Lexington Saturday.

The parade was hosted by the Lexington County Blowfish minor league baseball team. The team’s owner, Bill Shanahan, has envisioned this parade for years.

“”It was always been his vision,” Blowfish Chairman Daniel Hennigan said, “And I believe he started this out in San Francisco having a St. Patrick’s Day Parade and he took that expereince that he had, brought it for the first time on March 12 (today). It’s always been his vision of what he wanted this to be.”

Major General Robert E. Livingston Jr., the head of the Military Department of South Carolina, was the parade’s grand marshal.
