RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO) — Deputies with the Richland County Sheriff’s Department say they are looking for a suspect wanted for assaulting a victim at the Shell gas station located on Bluff Road.

On Saturday, March 5, the suspect allegedly threw a steel beer can at the store clerk striking the victim’s body after refusing to present identification while attempting to purchase beer, Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott said.

Authorities say the suspect then began knocking over several product displays and damaging a card reader before fleeing the business.

The victim was not injured, officials say.

The suspect is described as a black female in her early to mid-30’s, wearing an NBA Cavaliers t-shirt and blue jeans.
