SUMTER, S.C. (WOLO) – The search for a missing fisherman in Sumter along the Pocotaligo River will resume Monday morning, Sumter County Sheriff’s Office said.

Harry Lee Bradley, 61, of Sumter, went missing after his friends dropped him and his small boat off at the Pocotaligo River around noon Saturday. Bradley’s friends said they had agreed to pick the man up at dusk on Saturday, but when they returned he was not there. They said it was not unusual for him to fish overnight and left. When they came back Sunday morning and could not find Bradley, they tried unsuccessfully to reach him on his cell phone. When they still could not reach him, they contacted authorities and S.C. Department of Natural Resources was called in just before noon Sunday.

Bradley is a black male, who is 5 feet, 11 inches tall and weighs 190 pounds. He was last seen wearing a green jacket and red canvas to protect him in case of rain.

DNR crews discovered Bradley’s boat and cell phone Sunday about a mile upstream from US Highway 15 where he had embarked, but divers were unable to locate him. The search was called off about 6:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Searchers from DNR said they will resume the search around 7:30 a.m. Monday.

Anyone with information on Bradley or anyone who might have seen him is asked to call the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office at (803) 436-2000 or 911.
