Suspect Sought for Running Over Teen

CPD is working to identify and locate the driver of a car who ran over a teenage victim after an argument

whitecarCOLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) – Columbia Police investigators are working to identify and locate the driver of a car who ran over a teenage victim after an argument.

The incident occurred shortly after 2 a.m. Sunday at a restaurant parking lot located at 700 Harden St.

According to several witnesses at the scene, the female suspect and 18-year-old female victim were arguing moments before the hit and run incident. There was also a large fight between several people, the cause of which is still being determined.

The suspect driver is seen on surveillance video driving toward the victim, striking her with the car, and dragging her several yards before speeding away from the scene. As a result, the victim suffered severe injuries including road rash.  At last check, she was in stable condition at a local hospital.

A male victim was also struck by the car but was not seriously injured.

The suspect was possibly driving a white, older model car with tinted windows.  The vehicle may have passenger side and under carriage damage.

Investigators have talked with the victim and several witnesses, and will continue to search for any additional surveillance video in the area.
