Sheriff: Suspects Drove to SC to Commit Crimes

westcolamissingarrest.jpgRICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO) — Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott said three suspects traveled to the Palmetto State with the sole purpose of committing crimes.

On Thursday, March 31 Sheriff Lott said Tocara Middleton, Cia Dickerson, and Joshua Peterson, III went to Home Depot located at 7701 Two Notch Road and purchased four gift cards totaling $400.

The suspects used stolen credit card information and cloned numerous cards, Lott said.

The trio then went to the Home Depot located at 5200 Fernandina Road where they attempted to purchase additional gifts cards with the cloned cards before being taken into custody.

Middleton, 28, is charged with two counts of financial transaction card theft, two counts of financial transaction card fraud, two counts of financial transaction identity theft, and two counts of criminally receiving goods fraudulently obtained.

Dickerson, 27, is charged with financial transaction card theft, financial transaction card fraud, financial identity theft, and financial transaction card forgery

Peterson, 30, is charged with conspiracy.

Sheriff Lott said that Middleton, Dickerson, and Peterson drove from Tampa, Florida for the sole purpose of committing the crimes in Richland County.

Officials say additional gift cards, stolen credit cards, and stolen credit card information was located inside a vehicle operated by the three.

Middleton, Dickerson, and Peterson have been transported to Alvin S Glenn Detention Center.
