Multiple Boil Water Advisories Impacting Richland County
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — The City of Columbia has issued a boil water advisory for water customers of Calhoun Street and Barnwell Street.
Officials say customers of Calhoun Street (from Bull Street to Barnwell Street) and Barnwell Street (from Calhoun Street to Laurel Street) should vigorously boil their water for at least one full minute prior to drinking or cooking.
The City of Columbia is repairing an eighteen inch water main, which could result in bacterial contamination of the water.
The City of Columbia has also issued a boil water advisory for water customers of Bitternut Drive, Pinefield Drive, Shagbark Avenue, Ragsdale Drive, Kildare Drive, Carlow Drive, Pointer Drive, Quail Hills Drive, Moone Cross Drive, and Kingnut Drive.
Water customers in these areas are also asked to boil their water for a full minute.
The City of Columbia is cutting into and abandoning a six inch water main, which could result in bacterial contamination of the water.
