COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — Officers with the Columbia Police Department need the community’s assistance in identifying three persons of interest related to a hit and run investigation.

Officer say that two males and a female were involved in verbal and physical altercation with the 18-year-old female victim and her friends near 748 Harden Street on Sunday, April 3.

The people involved in the altercation match the description of the persons captured on surveillance video. Investigators want to talk with them about what they may know about the hit and run case.

During the course of the investigation, officers say the initial fight carried over to the parking lot of 700 Harden Street.

Following the altercation, someone intentionally hit the victim with a car, dragging her several yards before speeding away from the scene, officials say.

The victim suffered a broken ankle and road rash.

She is still at a local hospital, officers say.

A male victim was also struck by the car, but was not seriously injured.

The suspect who hit the victim was possibly driving a white, older model car with tinted windows.  The vehicle may have passenger side and under carriage damage.
