Huger Street Temporary Closure

COLUMBIA, S.C. (PRESS RELEASE) — On April 8, the City of Columbia’s Wastewater Maintenance Division will be performing maintenance on an 8 inch gravity sewer main located in the South bound lane of Huger Street between Gervais Street and Blossom Street.

Both South bound lanes will be closed beginning at 9 a.m. and traffic will be detoured East on Gervais Street to Assembly Street.  From Assembly Street, traffic will proceed southward towards Blossom Street before taking a right hand turn back towards Huger Street.

This detour is expected to continue until lanes of traffic on Huger Street can re-open. The project is expected to be completed by Monday April 11, 2016.  Please reference the attached traffic plan.

The City of Columbia will work as expeditiously as possible to complete this important maintenance while maintaining the safety of its employees and the public.
