ANDERSON, S.C. (AP) _ A North Carolina man faces a charge of murder and three counts of attempted murder in a fatal hit-and-run in Anderson County in which a car was rammed several times.

Anderson County Sheriff John Skipper tells local media outlets that 42-year-old Christopher Eugene Self of Vale, North Carolina, was arrested Wednesday in Lincoln County, North Carolina.

Self is fighting extradition to South Carolina and it was not immediately clear if he has an attorney.

The sheriff says Self is charged with the murder of 41-year-old Karen Hampton of Anderson County who was injured in the March 12 incident and died almost two weeks later. Three other people were injured.

Authorities say the victims were in a car that was rammed several times by another vehicle before the driver sped away.
