WATCH: RiverDogs Come Back, Spoil Fireflies Opener
The Columbia Fireflies got off to a great start in its franchise opener Thursday night in Charleston. The finish just needs a little work.
The new South Atlantic League single A affiliate of the New York Mets took a 4-1 lead into the bottom of the 9th, but Charleston stormed back for four runs and walked off with a 5-4 win in its season opener.
Vinny Sienna scored the franchise’s first run on a wild pitch in the 4th inning and gave Columbia a 1-0 lead.
Tyler Moore and Milton Ramos would add RBI hits to help the Fireflies build their lead.
The RiverDogs scored the game’s last two runs on a throwing error after the Fireflies had a runner picked off 2nd base.
