City of Columbia Summer Camp Programs Scheduled
COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– It’s never to early to start thinking about Summer. The City of Columbia has released details for its 2106 Summer Camp Programs.
According to City officials, Various summer camps will be held beginning Tuesday, May 31 and ending on Friday, August 12.
Day Camps
Camp programs focus on education through recreation, team building and leadership, creativity and self-expression, physical fitness and decision making. Camps are open to both city residents and non-city residents. The cost is $55 per week. Additional fees may apply for field trips.
Camps are held from 7:30 a.m.-6 p.m. for children ages 6-12 (as of July 1) at the following parks:

Teen Camp
The Parks and Recreation Department also offers a Teen Camp for children in grades 6-10 at the KMB Booker Washington Heights Community Center, located at 2611 Grant Ave. The camp runs from May 30 to August 12, Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m.-6 p.m. The cost is $55 per week. Children in grades K-6 can participate in a summer Sports Camp held at Martin Luther King, Jr. Park, 2300 Greene Street. The camp is held from 7:30 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Friday. The cost of the camp is $55 per week.
