CPD Search for Motive in Deadly Weekend Shooting

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) – Columbia police are investigating a deadly shooting at a North Columbia apartment complex.

Investigators said the incident occurred before 9 p.m. Friday at Hammond Village Apartments located at 921 Marlboro St.

The male victim was standing outside at the same time occupants inside two vehicles, described by witnesses as a white Chevy Impala and a burgundy/red Chevy Avalanche, fired shots at him.

Officials say the 29-year-old victim has died as a result of his injury.

Investigators have collected evidence from the crime scene, and are currently following leads, including working with other law enforcement partners on the case.
