Man Wanted in Credit Card Fraud Case
RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO) — Deputies with the Richland County Sheriff’s Department are looking for a suspect who they say stole a victims’ credit card and used the information to commit other fraudulent activities.
Authorities say the suspect stole the victim’s credit card information and was able to order a new card from the credit card company.
He then purchased gift cards and alcohol totaling $300 at the BP gas station located at 8404 Two Notch Road on Tuesday, March 15, officials say.
Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott is warning citizens to be aware of your surroundings and who may be watching over your shoulder.
Lott also suggests that citizens keep track of all your cards and receipts to compare your monthly statements.
The suspect may be in his 20s and was seen wearing a red hat, red shirt, and black shorts.
