Watch: Testimony Continues in Bathroom Bill Hearing

Columbia, S.C. (WOLO) — The state house battle over the “Bathroom Bill” continued on Thursday.

A Senate subcommittee continued hearing testimony on the controversial legislation which would require individuals to use the bathroom corresponding with their biological sex.

Senator Lee Bright, who proposed this legislation, and Senator Joel Lourie, who is strongly opposed, got an earful of opinions.

On Wednesday on a majority of those speaking were against the bill, however, Thursday’s hearing played out a little differently.

More of those in favor of the law stepped forward balancing out day two’s testimony.

Dozens of South Carolina residents packed the hearing all at odds on whether individuals should be bound to the bathroom of their biological sex.

Those in favor say the bill is common sense, protecting the privacy and safety of South Carolinians.

Meanwhile, those opposed argue the legislation is a harmful form of inequality.
