Orangeburg Man Already Behind Bars Faces New Charges
ORANGEBURG, SC (WOLO) — An Orangeburg man already behind bars for forgery is now being charged with theft.
Authorities say 45-year-old James Middleton, Jr., was charged Monday with one count each of grand larceny and third-degree burglary.
Middleton was already being held on a more than $94,000 bond for 27 counts of of forgery.
Bond was set on Middleton’s latest charges at $36,000.
Orangeburg County Sheriff’s investigators recovered two Kawasaki personal watercraft vehicles worth a combined $18,000 after they had been stolen from a Cordova resident two weeks ago.
Middleton was charged last week on multiple counts of forgery after a Cordova business reported that 20 checks were missing from a check book and nearly $16,000 missing from their banking account, officials say.
