Alan Wilson: Dismiss Special Prosecutor’s Lawsuit

Wilson late Tuesday asked the state Supreme Court to throw out a legal challenge from Solicitor David Pascoe, whom he says became powerless when Wilson fired him last month.

Wilson turned the investigation of former House Speaker Bobby Harrell over to Pascoe in 2014. Wilson fired Pascoe after he said the prosecutor tried to open a state grand jury probe into blacked out materials in a report without proper authority.

Pascoe maintains he had the authority and says he won’t step down without a court’s intervention. The high court is considering the prosecutors’ dispute and hasn’t said when it will rule.
