Tea and auction to provide housing and hope

PrintCOLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) – Transitional housing non-profit St. Lawrence Place is hosting its 10th annual “Angels Tea and Auction” Friday May 6 at the Columbia Museum of Art.

Now is the time for you to get your tickets, and your chance to take home “Welcome Home,” painted by Trinity Cathedral’s own Roger Hutchinson.

The money raised will help St. Lawrence Place residents like Valerie. Before moving in, Valerie and her son were sleeping in her car. Now Valerie is slated to graduate from St. Lawrence’s Career Development Training this month. She’s spent a lot of time in the career center recently, and it’s paying off. Valerie has a job interview next week.

Tickets may be purchased online, or by calling (803) 256-3999.

For more information and a look at some of the items that will be up for grabs at the auction, head to the SLP Events Facebook page.
