An Estimated $1.6M Raised in 3rd Annual ‘Midlands Gives’

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO) – Officials with the Central Carolina Community Foundation estimates that over $1.6 million dollars was raised in this year’s online giving challenge.

Now in its third year, Midlands Gives helped 383 local nonprofits in the 11 Midlands counties served by the Foundation secure vital financial support for sustainability.

In 2015, Midlands Gives raised an astonishing $1,543,032.65, via 11,372 individual gifts, toward 251 nonprofits.

In a first, the donation timeline was extended until 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 4, to accommodate for massive web traffic that have caused system slowdowns across the national giving platform, KIMBIA.
