Police Looking for Runaway Teen, 24-Year-Old Man
Horry County, S.C. (WPDE) — Horry County police are looking for a 15-year-old girl and the 24-year-old man she ran away with, according to a release from Lt. Raul Denis with Horry County police.
On Monday, May 2, police were alerted that 15-year-old Jessica Calles was not at school as expected and had run away from home with 24-year-old Javier Robles Ramirez.
Police say the two are believed to have fled together and may be in the Charleston area in a red BMW, Denis said.
Police originally said that Ramirez pretended to be the girl’s uncle and signed her out of school Monday morning, but Horry County Schools spokeswoman Teal Britton said that was not the case.
Britton said the girl did not go to school at all on Monday and so was not signed out by Ramirez. She said the girl’s mother came to the school and said her daughter had been missing since Sunday.
Britton said there was an incident earlier where a tale was fabricated to enable Ramirez to sign Calles out of school.
Ramirez is wanted for contributing to the delinquency of a minor and other charges, according to the release.
Calles stands 5′ 1″ tall and weighs about 110 pounds, according to police. Ramirez is about 5′ 5″ tall and about 155 pounds.
Anyone with information about their whereabouts is asked to contact law enforcement or leave a tip on the Horry County police Tip Line at 843-915-8477.
