ABOUT LAST GAME: The Fireflies split a doubleheader with Greensboro on Friday night. After dropping the first game, 5-2, Columbia bounced back and defeated the Grasshoppers 2-1 in the nightcap. Kevin Canelon picked up his second straight win, tossing five shutout innings and striking out 7.
RBI KING: David Thompson continues to drive in runs at a rapid pace. He had RBIs in each game of the doubleheader on Friday. He now has 33 through 28 games and still leads all of baseball.

Ivan Wilson also impressed the Greenville crowds from April 21-24. The slugger tallied three doubles and smashed a home run.
DIEHL’S DIGS: Jeff Diehl bats fifth in the order on Saturday evening against Greenville. He blasted home runs in consecutive games the last time he was at Fluor Field (April 22-23). He’s tied for the team lead with three.
