Man hits deputy in face after car, foot chase
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) – A 21-year-old man was arrested early this morning, after a car and foot chase, that ended with the suspect hitting a deputy, Richland County Sheriff’s Department said.
Officials said Tyrone Durham’s charges include reckless driving and resisting arrest.
Authorities said an officer attempted to pull Durham, who was driving recklessly along Broad River Road at 3 a.m. Saturday, over, but he ignored the sirens. Durham led officers on a chase that ended in Forest Acres, when officials said he got out of his car, and was taken down by police dogs. Then, they said, Durham hit the arresting officer.
He was booked into Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
