Man found deceased in motel room on North Main Street

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) – Columbia Police Department investigators are investigating, after they say an employee at a motel on North Main Street discovered a dead man in a room around 11 a.m. Sunday.

Authorities said the man had a gunshot wound in the upper body. They’re awaiting word on the exact cause of death from the Richland County Coroner’s Office, though, they said the death is considered “suspicious.”

This happened at the Coronet Motel in the 6300 block of North Main Street.
