Woman Charged with Murder in Motel Shooting Death

Natila TuckerCOLUMBIA, SC (WOLO) – A woman has been arrested in connection with the shooting death of a man at a local motel on May 8.

Authorities say 41-year-old Natila Tucker is charged with murder and possession of a stolen vehicle after shooting the male victim in the head following an argument over money in exchange for sex services.

Richland County Coroner Gary Watts identified the victim as Tyron Jackson.

He was discovered deceased by a motel employee who quickly notified police.

Tucker, who is allegedly a prostitute, is accused of arguing and physically fighting with the victim before shooting him at the Coronet Motel on North Main Street, officials say.

She was taken into custody Thursday morning while walking near the intersection of Main Street and Elmwood Avenue.

Tucker is also accused of stealing Jackson’s car from the scene and was in possession of his personal items after the murder.

Tucker was taken to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
